"Meet G.G. Wrong - Geek Gone Wrong. Made form old computer parts, old cell phone parts, old tie, and an old shirt. His heart that he wears outside his shirt is the inside of DVD player!"
Link

Jess Dabro
" He is made from left over scraps of material (yellow felt), old curtain samples ready for the bin, and second-hand buttons. He is stuffed with old socks and scraps of fabric. He is a mixure between a creature from "where the wild things are", and something out 'the Goonies'."

"once upon a time…
era uma vez um menino que se chamava gualter.
o gualter adorava passear pela relva fresca da manhã. era feito de canas azuis, tinha dentes pretos, mas era muito simpático..."

hug you one second and scream the next."
Link

Stuffed
"When the kid sits still for a moment, I will make her demonstrate monster puppetry.
Edit: I may never get a pic of the monster in action. Wherever Monster goes so follows chaos and spazzdom. Word to the wise, don't make a puppet that can kick."

Adam Levine
"He's made of recylced red and gray fleece, felt, faux fur, and a sexy button"
Link

Melissa T
Moustache Rides
"Species: hacklehog revildfrog. Commonly found in Panatypanna, Matphon. Physical attributes: main body constructed from a recycled frog stuffed animal, legs & arms made from recycled MONSTEROUS & scary
"satin" bear, extremely elegant, curly black doll hair, electrifying royal blue chicken hackles, the recycled face of a certain villian, & busting out of hacklehog revildfrog's
midsection-a scary warthog with mysterious coins in it's mouth."
Link

Michelle Rohbach
Crochet Sleuth
"He is made out of an old blouse, and stuffed with a cut up t-shirt of my husband's, and 2 cut up onesies that have been outgrown. This stuffing makes him kind of lumpy and dense/heavy, which is PERFECT for this little beast."
Link

Karen Tucker
Kraf-o-la
"'With his one eye, he sees all.' Body and eye came from old sweaters that I had and the mouth came from a knitted scarf."
Link

Meredith
Monster Town
"He's made from an old upholstery sample, some felt scraps, and embroidery thread. Everything is from thrift stores, or my stash of free upholstery samples."
Link

Stephanie Graham
Almost Amish
"Here is my monster. He's peeking out of the closet, waiting for all the kids to go to sleep. He was fun to make. Old slipcover, dyed with food color. Teeth are polymer clay."
Link

Cheryl Chambras
Lily's Rooster
"This is Io and he is a terrifying alien monster. His favorite planet is Jupiter. He's a bit chubby and he loves to kiss! I had some half-finished projects that I didn't think I'd ever complete, so I unraveled them and reused the yarn to make Io. He's crocheted from cotton yarn with some details (face, antennae) crocheted with a sparkly polyester yarn. "

Keep On Living
"Evil Clutch
I made a book clutch from an old hard back book found at a yard sale. It was destroyed by water damage so I covered it and appliquéd a silly devil peeking out."
Link

Sarah MacKinnon
"She is made from a favourite pair of socks that had worn out and stuffed with the lint and bits of yarn that gather under my loom when I'm weaving, as well as fabric scraps too small to use for anything else. Her dress is made from the sleeve of an old shirt of my mom's, her hair ribbon came off a present someone gave me, and her hair is the hand-dyed yarn from an old weaving project gone terribly wrong (that I just couldn't bear to throw out). She likes to read and climb trees."

Linda Madden
Whimpy's One Horse Town
"My little monster is scary mostly because of his skin and his sort of evil grin. He is made from some very scary man-made fabric whipped up into a dress in the 1960's and has been hanging around in my 'vintage' collection for way too long. The stripe is an old tshirt. "

Nick Z
Catzaccstudio
"She was the very first monster I made. She is made up of an old sweater, a vintage tablecloth, and a drape. She is very small, appox. 5x4"."

"Molly is like all of us- she has a monster inside of her! One side is her cute self, but turn her over and you'll see her monstrous side. Kind of like me on a Monday morning!"
Link

Maitreya
Craftlog
"Crocheted monster finger puppet. Totally freehanded! I'm still amazed that it even looks anything close to a monster. Since he's made of thrifted yarn my sister gave me, I suppose he even counts as recycled."
Link

Dr Forte
Ginger and Non-Ginger Cat
"He's made from my daughter's cast-offs - we had a good clearout at Easter. Well, she did, I sat on her bed cutting up her underwear. Top and bottom are t-shirts, tongue and eyes are a lycra swimsuit and his mouth is a bra."
Link

Lyn Roberts
"Here is George, very happily introducing his new baby sister, Mildred. Who - sshhhh , is sleeping. Both made from dyed, re-cycled blankets. Great fun, but somebody please remind me never to try making a baby monster's pacifier from felt again !. "

" Meet Kalli, the friendly monster, my first ever Month o' Softies project!
She is all dressed up ready for her first day of Monster School complete
with denim dress and shy smile - quite the charmer!"
Link

Moki Star
"This happy and lovable monster is made from the arm of a sweater and a purse lining that never actually made it to a purse. I considered using plastic grocery bags to fill him but I couldn't bear that crunchy sound."
Link

Shelley Selwood
Mrs Misanthrope
"He’s made from fabric found at a charity shop and his button eyes were taken from a second hand cardigan. His mouth started out life as another softie that never got sewn up."

Natalie Von Ewert
WhimsyWorks
"In the 1950's and 60's, monsters could be
anything from aliens to robots from Mars.So how about a kindly monstrous robot?Or, how about one with a big posterior as his defense?I present to you,'Robutt'.He is made partially from a shiny nylon Tommy Hillfiger
midriff hoodie.Believe me,the hoodie was much more of a scary monster before it became this nice one.:)"

"Scampy is a wild little creature who just wants to have fun. He loves to take things that don't belong to him and he runs very fast ~ so you probably won't catch him in the act. So when things go missing, start looking for Scampy!"
Link

Jessie
Bella Blue
"It's made of wool felt with vintage buttons. I started it a couple of months ago as a gift for my husband and decided to finish it up and submit it!"
Link

Janet Wallace
Slice of Pink
"The creature does not have a name because I have no idea how to "name" a stuffed animal. This is where my friends who have kids come in handy. Can one of my mom friends give this softie a name?"
Link

Amy Proff Lyons
APL Creations
"Pennie picked up her name from the wool scraps I used to make her facial features. They're left overs from various penny rugs I've made in the past. Her body is made from vintage quilt squares and her hair is made from over-dyed handspun wool."
Link

Jacqueline
Six Impossible Things
"And so I present ... El Bandito!...he is outside in one of the trees, scoping out the front yard for troublemakers. I have already rescued him once from the clutches of the dogs (they think all soft toys are belonging to us). But he lives! To fight another day! For justice!"
Link

Link

"'Hi, my name is Clive. Can't you tell I'm a nice guy by my shirt?' (I always wanted to find a use for those spiky, orange buttons bought at Camberwell market so many years ago...)"
Link

Michelle Law
Bear Girl
"This purple-eyed fellow was made at midnight - very appropriate! The green wool felt is revoltingly stiff and unsewable stuff which was about to get binned in my sewing room clean-up, and his jaunty scarf was made from a very old scarf of mine. He is only a little monster- about 3.5 inches tall."
Link

Lisa Coutts
"This is my 'Nonster', as he is a failure at being a monster. He is not
in the least bit scary, in fact he can't say anything at all he is so
excrutiatingly shy.
He is made of two old socks that no longer stay up, some old buttons that belonged to my 90 year old aunt, and he is stuffed with the stuffing from an abandoned softie that never had any future!"
Link

Michelle
Shells and Beans
"With the help of my children and some of their clothes to be thrown out, we came up with this "monster girl". Funny that theirs and my interpretation of a "monster" pretty much resembles the three little ones that live at my house!"
Link

Cecile Bonbon
"Here is my monster (my cat). its name is:
Mouse Eater. ( old cloths, zip broken and recovered button.)"
Link

Melissa Hicks
Ohsewpretty
"I made this monster about a year ago for my sons, who wanted me to make tham a toy like Boo! from the childrens cartoon. I made his body and arms, but hadn't gotten around to doing his features or legs. Wherever I put this unfinished creature, he always ended up near my machine (yes, I do think my eldset son put him there to try and get me to finish him, but that explanation ruins the mystery!)..."
Link

Sandy
Grace Street Studio
"The eyes are from two washers that for some reason were laying on my sewing table. I'm not sure what they are from, and I hope that I don't realize that I need them one day. "

Belinda Ketley
"I think he looks rather like Alan Ginsberg, although as yet he hasn't written any beat poetry. I posed him with a cigar (my last home-grown tomato of the season) because I like his raffish air."
Link

Belinda Ketley
"This is my first recycled monster. She started life as a tea-cosy. My daughter's drawer of "special things" was invaluable in providing the hat (which used to contain lavender), the bangle for her mouth, the plait and the flowers. I used polished stones and two star anise for her eyes. Doris is demure, fragrant and very ladylike. She represents my long-lost daintiness."
Link

Nicole Vaughan
Craftapalooza
"Why buttons? I recently returned to work from successful thrift shopping at lunchtime looking for vintage buttons. Excitedly showing my boss the buttons, I wondered why she'd gone quiet and a little strange....I mean, why not be as excited as I was about the scabby looking bunch of buttons that obviously needed a wash? It wasn't until a few hours later I remembered that she had (and still has slightly) a phobia of buttons. As a child they made her feel ill. Any clothes she wore couldn't have buttons! Apparently this isn't as unusual as I thought."

"Their jobs are collect buttons and give them to anyone who need or lost buttons. Made up with buttons, towels, curtains and some left cloths when I made a catnip toy last time."
