about the project & how to particapte

"I don't know if my elephant qualifies, it is not stitched together yet. I need to overlook the fabrick and then attach it together and put bits and pieces of velcro to the accessories and, and and...

This baby elephant is inspired by my baby boy Loukie, who is now 18 months. He is so sweet with his big brown eyes and curly eylashes, with his blankie and his dummy in his mouth...

I used whatever fabric I had in hand; actually, almost all of it is from my boy's outgrown t-shirts. The elephants romper is made of Loukie's romper- you can actually open it up! His orange cloth nappy comes from a baby bath towel. Loukie is using cloth nappies, and this particular one was inspired by the colourful shaped terry nappies of www.totsbots.co.uk. The blankie is part of a proper blankie, the toy fleece cars were part of a fleece slipper-socks. The toy dinosaur was part of an outgrown t-shirt. The elephant's t-shirt reads "I love mum", because Loukie is such a mummy's boy!

The elephant is supposed to be appliqued into a pillow or cushion - hence the softie presence- You are supposed to be able to put the nappy and the sleepsuit on and off, and put the toys and the blankie between his hands. The elephant comes complete with a proper dummy (pacifier)!

Thank you for your creative idea, I had lots of fun creating the elephant in two days and it is something we will treasure as a memory of Loukie's clothes. I need to do something similar with my daughter 's clothes!"
