One for the wee bairns. Softie inspired video – Features vocals by Robin Goldwasser.
I see some familar looking softies in there, and Kirst, I am sure one of your Marks is driving one of those cars.

My week in pictures. There were wild winds and sick kids.
Aah Friday… In exactly two minutes I am picking up the phone and ordering Mushroom Mutter, naan bread and some kind of crazy deep fried chicken (pakora?). I will also be encouraging the girls to turn off the tv and will be switching on the radio to listen to Classic Drive with Julia Lester because I like Julia and her music programmer. Tonight I am ducking around the corner for some classy drinks with the girls and then tomorrow I am leaping up to go to the market to buy my usuals (celeriac? feta? cos lettuce hearts? these things seem to make it into my bag every week).
this weekend I am also going to be
- making chicken pie for friends
- visiting the flea market
- painting some window frames
- trying not to think about gorgeous mid century furniture I spied with Kirsty in Fitzroy today
- pulling up weeds
- picking up a copy of Jane Eyre
- putting together a costume for a school performance
- starting a design for an embroidered cushion for Amelia’s birthday
- pulling out that old prickly pear pattern and making it into something that others might like to buy (hello 2005!)
- taking the girls to Ponyo
- and some more!
What are you up?
I’ve been working on my contribution to Kirsty’s Rework Quilt Project and have been enjoying the gentle, repetitive stitching.
I drew up my pattern in Adobe Illustrator so thought it would be easy to write up some accompanying instructions, save it all as a pdf and put it up here as a downloadable embroidery pattern – for you! From me! For freee!
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print off this file, which is available for free here.
The pattern and instructions are copyright and are for personal use only. Please don’t copy and redistribute it, or sell items made from the work. But you know all that. Thank you.
Let me know what you think - I might do some more in the future.
< adverting spot > Don’t forget the prints and rabbits and kokeshi dolls – all available now but selling fast! < / advertising spot >
Finally! Rabbits, prints and kokeshi dolls are now for sale. I didn’t get the punkdorf dolls finished but thought that if I waited until they were done this stuff would *never* get listed. They will be available in late October.
This will be the last lot of things for sale until late October/early November.
Ok, now I am off to lie horizontal and deep breathe.
Today was going to be all about the photos – the rabbits that I have been slowly (oh so slowly) stitching away at for months are finally done and I was going to take some lifestyle-y kinda shots to make them look oh-so-appealing but of course, it’s a gloomy August day and no matter how much I rev up the saturation in photoshop it still looks grey. So perhaps tomorrow will be better. If all goes to plan I will have rabbits, punkdorf dolls, kokeshi dolls and prints all available either on ebay or etsy some time next week. Stay tuned for details – and photos!
And look: Daffodils are out in the garden – and now in a vase in our kitchen.
