The future in a cup

Sadly I have missed a couple of days, so close to the end of my month of posting every day. I also completely forgot to take photos of my last three dinners to upload to Once Daily (have you visited Once Daily? Come join us! – Start a project with a vague theme such as daily dinners, kitchen benches, breakfast, views etc. And take a photo every day, upload it and watch a story of your life slowly unfold). Our weekend was busy with family and lots of laughs. Tonight we are off to a bbq with a country football team so I can only imagine what kind of craziness will insue.
Just now Phil has finished his morning coffee (look, he’s uploading them everyday to Once Daily), and this is the formation the coffee grounds made in the bottom of his cup. BIZARRO! I, of course, immediately read it to mean that we will spotting that elusive Barn Owl that lives around here… but perhaps, according to Turkish coffee ground fortune telling, it means something more ominous? Scandal! Oh dear. Let’s hope it has nothing to do with tonight’s bbq and all those footballers. I have seen enough of them on facebook to know that there’s a strong possibility. I would far prefer to see that Barn Owl.
** Terrifying update! Phil has just got back from his morning run… and look what he saw on a log! What can it mean? **

That is totally creepy in the cup. *Shivers* I’d totally be worried if that happened to me, but I’m way superstitious!

I love how educational your blog is – I followed the link and now know more about Turkish coffee than I ever thought I would. Definately an owl sighting is on the cards (in the cups?)

I think they’re eyes that are watching over you and your family, keeping you safe, warding off bad stuff!

Does he take the camera out running or did you have to leg it yourself to get the photo!?

According to my trusty dream interpreter function on my mobile phone, owls signify… oh dear – family troubles and disappointment! Let’s hope it’s a reverse omen.

just happened upon your blog via your lovely etsy, and HAD to comment on this post. When I was pregnant with my third child (but didn’t yet know), an owl took residence in a tree just outside our door. He stayed there for weeks, and left when we took the (positive)pregnancy test.
I was so freaked out by the owl (a great horned) that i did a lot of symbolism research.
it’s a good omen, surely. (and maybe you’re pregnant.)

i think the owls are protecting you guys, for sure. i wanna re-post this post of yours because it’s so cool, but i don’t have any “hub” where i post things (like a blog or a tumblr or whatever). i’m trying to decide what said hub should be like…but in the meantime, figured i’d just say, cool post! many cool posts, all over loobylu, really. been following you from brooklyn with til-now-quiet enthusiasm for *years!* cheers and keep up the fine work!
love,

I’m thinking definitely an owl sighting going to happen. That’s quite strange to see both of those in one day, amazing what you can see sometimes.
