Inspires me: Souther Salazar
29th April 2009

The work of Souther Salazar actually makes my heart ache just a little.

These are older works but he has a show coming up in New York on May 16th, 09 at Jonathan Levine Gallery.

Just found your blog and I’m happily enjoying it. You’ve got a great aesthetic!

My reaction is similar – only more a skip than an ache, I think.

Check out the art of Maira Kalman if you don’t know of her. “Sayonara Mrs.Kackleman” – one of my favourite picture books ever. She is a “visual blogger” for the NY Times, too.

I love Souther too. How in the heck does someone think like that? It’s amazing…

I love his work too. I have a print hanging in my kitchen. Funny, I just told my husband last night that I want to get your print, and a Jam Fancy print framed to match my Souther print. Weird co-incidences keep happening…
