You are not wrong, daycare is just one big "petri dish" - what a perfect way of summing it up. My poor wee sausage has had it all, TWICE, in the past six months. Hope the hand, feet and mouth get better soon!

Hi, it's me again...

I just read down further in your blog to your post from the 23rd and found out how you made the 'oiled kraft paper'. I'll have to get some linseed oil and give it a go over the weekend.

~ I have days like this, so please bear with me!

I've never heard of oiled kraft paper.
I don't know whether we have it in here Australia.

Are there any other names it might go by?

Great blog.
Sorry to hear about little Lily being sick. I now can relate to having sick little ones and the distress it brings to the family. I have a 10 month old who has a bit of a chesty cold but much better now. I would love to put him in day care once a week but it is so hard to find availability in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.

hi miss loobylu! :)
apparently it's 17 months (a strange number) that it takes for wee-ones to develop a good immune system from childcare/school. i hope she feels better soon - hang in there! x p.

I face the same dilemma. My daughter (2.5) is at childcare two days a week. It's wonderful for my sanity (I'm 6 months pregnant) but we seem to be sick with a new cold/bug every fortnight. I took her to a naturopath who has put us on zinc to boost immunity - who knows what's best: time out for me vs constant illness/tiredness/grumpiness. We'll persevere for the moment. Really enjoying your blog and your etsy finds. Thank you.

hey, stumbled on your website, which i think is beautiful. i'm from Singapore, and we've had quite serious cases of HFMD, with a few children dying from it a few years ago. just to let you know that there are about 60 (!!) different strains of it, so please, do keep your children in, and they will be better soon. however, it's not really something that child will develop immunity to, as there are so many different strains. it's not to scare anyone, it's just so you know. i do think we have it harder here in South-east Asia because of our weather etc.

after all that...i hope everyone stays safe and healthy!!
