		<description>Indeed that large pile of &quot;rocks&quot; is actually a peat pile whereby blocks of peat were cut from the ground and then piled on top of one another to dry and therefore harden. This was a common practice in Scotland and Ireland.

In the Shetlands it is called a &#039;roog&#039; and used for roofing and fuel for fire.</description>
