Hello (and squash)
Hello!
It’s just a few days over a year since I stopped updating here and, predictably, I have been missing it. I feel like it’s time to start up again. Do you like our button squash? Some got a little too big and tough but the little ones are delicious steamed, with a big blob of butter and sprinkling of pepper. See you tomorrow!

Thank goodness you are back. I have been reading and re-reading everything that you have ever written on this blog many times over. Although I understood why you had to take a break, you were missed. I have never commented on any blog. Guess I will have to comment on the blogs that I love so that people could get to know that their presence is valuable.Take it easy!

tried to email this thru but it bounced back so thought i’d leave a comment instead
“This is way too spooky…just this morning as I was getting ready to go to work all of a sudden I thought of your website and how great it would be if you came back and had art available on etsy because I working on an etsy feature wall at home…then today I went to a blog I had never visited before and saw a button linking back to your website and clicked on it thinking `what the hell, you never know!’ and there you are, first post back after a year! I have no idea where that thought came from this morning but it’s like my subconscious knew the website was going to be updated today…I almost fell off my chair when I checked it just then!
Anyway - short version is - lovely to have you back & looking forward to reading more!

Welcome back!
Those squash are called “pattypan” in the United States (I thought they were called “scallopini” in Australia). I love them. I grow them every year in my garden, and yes, only the small ones are good and tender. However, with the little bit larger ones, I peel them, scoop out the seeds (if needed), slice, and saute them with olive oil and onions. Yum.

About 3 or 4 years ago I read an article about you in The Age newspaper. It was the photo that caught my eye - you and your sewing machine. That was the first time I had ever heard of a blog. That article opened up a whole new world to me, so I’m very happy to see that you have returned to blogging. You’re the original craft blogger in my mind.

eeek, your back! Great news, I’ve really missed your blog, I’ve looked around at the odd blog, but only found one other (apart from yours) that’s had me hooked as a regular - (http://www.lintrezza.com/blogger.html) - and that’s Linda Cockburn’s site - author of the good life - and of course you know where I found out about her from! Really loved all the bits of inspiration within your blog when it was last up and running - I bought the laptop lunch boxes, discovered curious george, rediscovered the moomins, etc. etc. and I see you’ve mentioned my all time favourite Milly Molly Mandy once more. I recently discovered that her appeal is very broad and that after initial protest of ‘that’s a girl book’ my 6 year old boy loves the stories as much as his big sister and mum.
I’ve been enjoying some home grown button squash as well, they’re just so pretty aren’t they. Though I think next time I’d need to grow more, as my one tub of them only ever yields 2 or 3 at best at a time.
